Austin and the tools

In my last blog I said I would wirte about Austin in Bapo's tool bag at a later time....well....here we go.
While Mike and Bapo were putting the rock wall on the swing set and moving the slide we were all outside playing also. Austin was roaming around being a boy getting into things.
First he started with the dirt again......
Look dirt.

Not eating it....SEE

Then he found Bapo's tool bag.....

I found something (such a serious face), what is it?

Nope, you can't have it....just look!!!

Maybe there's something better..

HA!! I found something else...

Whatever this is it is just my size...

Oh NO!! Bapo's coming....is he going to take it?

Oh, he's going to show me what to do with it...Bapo says See, it goes on the drill here.

This is serious stuff here....better pay attention.

I sure learned a lot about tools today........on to the next thing to get into.

Austin is such a little boy...he is so curious about everything and how it works and is into EVERYTHING!!! It is fun to watch him explore and discover, he is growing up so fast though....where is the time going? Sure not a baby anymore, growing right along.

Working on the Swing Set

The swing set we bought for the kids has been a HUGE hit. Lauren loves to do flips on the bar and to be able to swing big. Austin loves to swing and they both love the slide. I love that we have a playground in our backyard now.

Of course when we bought it we had already talked about adding some stuff to it...Bapo decided he wanted to build a climbing wall. Sunday the wall was done so we asked Dad to come up and help us put it up and help us move the slide (when we set the swing set we didn't really look at where it would shoot out...they were almost going into the rose bushes.) I had already taken out a pork tenderloin so I asked if he and Mom wanted to have dinner with us...Emily was going to have dinner with them so we invited her also.

Emily and I worked on dinner while the guys worked on the swing set and Mom took pictures.



In between checking on the meat Emily played with Austin to help keep him out of the way.

He really wanted to slide while he was at the top so I helped him part way down....

and let him go.....WWWHHHHEEEEEEE!!!

The rock wall is mounted!!! Austin's checkin' out this new addition.

Then he found Bapo's tool bag....hhhmmmm what's in here...

(I'll write about this later.)

We may need to move the rope swing now...

Once everything was done Lauren was showing us how she can flip.

Time to eat.....doesn't it look good?

So thanks to Bapo for the new climbing wall and help moving the slide.....what's next? Soon it will get some stain so it looks nice.

Austin's outdoor adventure

Today was such a beautiful Day!!! Austin must have known this somehow because ALL he wanted to do was go outside and play (Actually not much different than any other day, he just wants to be outside.), so we went outside. He love the freedom he has now being able to walk and use the toys we have in the backyard. He was all alone today though (no Lauren to watch or follow, just him exploring). He had such a GREAT time.

He played in his barn.
BOO!!!! He thinks it's funny to look out the window and see me.

But then he had to figure out how to get out without Lauren. It took him a little time but...

HHMMM...how do I get down?

Maybe I can ride the door......

On to the swing set, Can climb the slide like I see Lauren do?

He would pick up a piece of dirt and give it to me and say Thank You.

Then he wanted to swing...

So he got his first BITE of dirt. Wish I could have gotten a picture of his face trying to get it out of his mouth but I was trying to help him (and laughing at him), he did not like it. He did like roaming around outside on his own able to do and touch whatever he wanted. He is going to be my little explorer. It is going to be fun to see him as spring and summer are coming and all the fun that come with them.
